How to Become a Christian Realize that God loves you. “For God so loved the world [you] that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever [you] believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16 “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they [you] might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” John 10:10 Realize that you are a sinner in need of forgiveness. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God.” Romans 3:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 6:23 “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” Hebrews 9:27 Realize that God wants to forgive you “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8 “For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit.” 1st Peter 3:18 Turn away from your sins “I tell you, nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” Luke 13:5 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is a gift of God.  Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9 Place your faith in God’s Son, Jesus Christ “Testifying both to the Jews and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ.” Acts 20:21 “Jesus saith unto him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.’ ” John 14:6 Receive Jesus Christ “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20 Follow the ABC’s    Admit to God that you are a sinner by being willing to repent and change;   Believe in Jesus by accepting that He is the only begotten Son of God and that He died for your sins and that you are saved--that He died so you can live; Commit your life to Jesus Christ.
